Prerequisites: 200 hour teacher training certification through Yoga Alliance


This 300 additional hour teacher training program offers a comprehensive education for those interested in becoming a more qualified yoga teacher and educator. By absorbing a deeper understanding of yoga concepts, this program also gives the tools for the individual’s personal practice to deepen.   



Included in this program: -Yoga wisdom through various Yoga Texts

-How to improve classroom skills

-Yoga therapy taught through various Yoga Therapy modalities.

-Body awareness, education and training

-Therapeutic approaches to structural and emotion conditions

-Ayurveda concepts and their application

-How to correct bad posture and faulty movement patterns that cause discomfort and pain   



Included In This Program:


Yin Yoga: Learn how Yin Yoga involves the connective tissue of the hips, pelvis and lower spine. Connective tissue responds best to gentle stress over a long period of time, so Yin postures are held for longer periods. It is a great aid for learning to sit in meditation; Yin Yoga addresses the deeper spiritual dimensions of yoga, with sections on chakras, breathing exercises, and meditation.  


Yoga Therapy: Learn how traditional yoga techniques including Postures, breath techniques, meditation, mantra, mudra, and Mandala can be used as a therapeutic tool to address certain physical conditions such as Diabetes, Arthritis, Back pain and more. Body systems covered will include musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, nervous, endocrine and immune systems.


Iyengar yoga: learn the time honored Iyengar practice utilizing traditional yoga postures as a technique to heal various areas in the body that are weakened, imbalanced. Injured or constricted. In this 20 hour segment Jeff Logan with teach the art of caring for the body through the examination of proper alignment and focus.  


Yoga Nidra: Learn the art of a Therapeutic meditation practices with involve traditional koshas based on ancient yoga techniques. Learn how healing the emotions and belief systems are also the same methods involved with uncovering your deeper true nature. This 20 hour segment utilizes the practices based on the teachings of Richard Miller and irest techniques as well as traditional Vedanta wisdoms.  


Vinyasa Flow: This training is designed to both integrate what you have already learned and equip you with the confidence, experience and information needed to tap into your own creative intelligence as you move deeper into your teaching experience. Included in this course will be the basic principles of teaching, the philosophy, mechanics and art of teaching all levels. Also this course will teach the lines of the body and how they interact in the flow, the creative art of sequencing, teaching from the heart, timing, themes, music and leading vinyasa based workshops.  


Connecting the Whole Body - Yoga Therapy: In this program the process of how to use one's inner voice for healing the body and mind is taught. Based on the teaching of both Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy developed by Michael Lee, as well as, traditional Hatha Yoga this program teaches healing tools mutually to the yoga therapist and the student. Hands on work and physical postures will be included.  


Yoga Sutras workshop: Review and expand your understanding of the meaning of yoga. Yoga Sutras will be studied in greater depth by reexamining each sutra individually in order to get a clearer, deeper comprehension of the foundations previously taught, thus making our awareness and knowledge richer.  


Yoga Posturing workshop: Increase your understanding of yoga postures. Educated teachers will take their previously learned asanas and examine them again both individually and with a flow refine your poses  


Forceful Yoga - The Original Yoga: Yoga is an ancient practice with its origins dating back some 5000 years. Early practitioners found yoga to not only have extraordinary health benefits, but also to provide a veritable means to transcendence. In this course, some of those ancient practices and philosophies through the three sacred texts on the origin of Hatha Yoga will be explored. Thus, an understanding of the original purpose of yoga will be discovered. The three sacred texts are: Hathayoga-pradipika, Gheranda-samhita and Siva-samhita.  


Yoga and Recovery: This program will teach how trauma is stored in the body and how this trauma can lead to addictive/destructive behaviors. The student will gain knowledge of the 12 steps to recovery and where yoga can aid in healing. Learn the signs of an addictive personality and how as a yoga teacher to initially handle a student with this situation. Discover some of the recovery training programs and what they offer.  


Kundalini Vidya: Uncover the path of Laya Yoga. Learn the secret teachings of the Subtle body taught on a deeper level. Chakras, Koshas, Vayus, Nadis will be examined and explored.


Ayurveda as Therapy: Revisit Ayurveda and go to the next level to learn about the medicinal aspects of this great tradition. Uncover the concepts and the application of healing through this Therapy.    



300 Hr Yoga Teacher Certification Teachers:


Regina Chaeli RN LMT eRYT: Regina is the coordinator of Yoga Darshana Center and the director of the 200 hr Long Island Yoga Teacher Training Program. She has studied formal yoga for over 30 years. She is a licensed massage therapist and registered nurse. Regina has completed advanced training with Richard Miller in Yoga Nidra, as well as many other yoga modalities. She has a strong understanding of the human body and how it works. Her specialty is guiding the student on the inner journey.  


Debra Jensen PTA, eRYT 500: Deb is a Physical Therapist Assistant, Integrative Yoga Therapist and a Certified Health Counselor. She trained with IYT for her 200, 500 & 1000 hour yoga therapist certifications. Debra has been teaching yoga classes for cancer survivors, as well as chair yoga & Level I classes as well as specialized workshops at Southampton Hospital for more than 12 years. Debra also teaches as faculty with IYT's yoga therapist training program at Kripalu and is the Program Coordinator for Southampton Hospital's Functional Fitness and Healthy at any Age Programs.


Rosemary Hudson E-RYT: Rosemary began studying yoga at 16 years old. As the middle child of seven, she found peace and focus as well as a low impact way to be fit. She began her yoga teaching career at 19, took a hiatus after a few years and returned to being a leader of the practice 10 years ago. Rosemary is known for her positive, happy outlook and zest for life. She enjoys bringing the healing practice and peace of yoga to people of all ages.  


Jeff Logan: Jeff is the owner of Body, Mind & Soul yoga center in Huntington. He is currently on the Board of Iyengar Yoga Association of NY & an Officer of the Long Island Yoga Association where he writes the Asana Column for its quarterly newsletter. He is certified in the Iyengar tradition and is known for his in-depth, yet light hearted approach to teaching asana. Jeff teaches the Iyengar Yoga section of the yoga teacher training program.  


Dolores Burns MA RYT: Dolores has been a teacher and student of yoga for over 20 years. She was a student and secretary for Gurani Anjali for 14 years at Yoga Anand Ashram where she did extensive training in yoga and eastern philosophy. Dolores is currently a student of Swami Chandrasekharanand Saraswati and Sivarpita from Patanjali Kundalini Yoga Care. She has a BA in Education. Dolores teaches The Bhagavad Gita sections.  


Elaine Fruchtman: Elaine is a certified Yoga instructor eRYT: a Phoenix  Rising Yoga Therapy Practitioner and Group facilitator also  teaches yoga to people of all flexibilities. Elaine specializes in stress- management, wellness, and yoga for people with special needs, including yoga for expectant moms. She is razor sharp in her classroom instruction, alignments and adjustments with her students.

Donna Brook RN MA RYT: Donna Brook is a registered nurse with extensive experience in working with clients in crisis and transition. She is also a Reiki Master, Certified Ayurvedic Practitioner, Clinical Aromatherapy Practitioner, Angel Therapy Practitioner, and holds Therapeutic Lifestyle Certification. Donna is trained and certified in Ayurveda through the International Vedic Institute. She has also studied energy medicine with Alberto Villoldo.  


Amy Perri eRYT 500: The transformative quality of yoga and its ability to cultivate self-acceptance, gratitude and compassion led Amy to become a yoga teacher. She completed her 200 hour training at Into This World Yoga Productions in 2007 and completed her 500 hr Long Island Yoga Teacher Training with Rolf Gates in June 2010. Amy teaches adults and children out of her home studio and brings yoga to the developmentally disabled.
